The Health Data Consortium strives to provide programming that will advance the liberation of health data and promote insight into and opportunities to leverage these data while building connections and community for the healthcare industry.

Health Datapalooza™

Health Datapalooza™ is the annual national conference born from government efforts to liberate health data. The conference features the newest, most innovative and effective uses of health data by companies, startups, academics, government agencies and individuals. The event typically takes place in early June. Please join us!

Health Data All Stars

Health Data All Stars is a directory of 50 prominent domestic resources for health data at the federal, state and local levels housed on the Health Data Consortium’s website. To compile the directory, we spoke with leading health researchers, government officials, entrepreneurs, advocates and others to identify the health data resources that matter most. The Health Data All Stars is supported through a grant from the California HealthCare Foundation.

Health Data Gallery

Open health data is not the ultimate goal of health data liberation, but a much needed step along the way to improving the U.S. health care system. In the Health Data Gallery, HDC highlights success stories of health data being leveraged to create real differences in health care delivery and people's lives. The Health Data Gallery is supported through a grant from the California HealthCare Foundation.

The Health Data Challenge Series

The Health Data Challenge Series applies the best practices of the leading tech incubators and accelerators to identify the most innovative uses of data services to improve health or healthcare, run in partnership with Luminary Labs. We are actively seeking supporting partners to run these exciting challenges with us.

The Health Data Liberators Award recognizes extraordinary contributions to the liberation of health data, helping to accelerate the pace and multiply the volume of data available to innovators to foster the creation of products and services to improve health and health care.

The George Thomas Post-Graduate Fellowship in Health Data Science and Engineering

In recognizing the importance of the principles of an open data and open government, George Thomas espoused principles to advance a civil society into optimizing the gains that technology can bring to the public. George was among an elite few who understood not only the technology, but the power of these principles in creating a healthier world. To honor George Thomas’s memory and great contributions to open data, the Health Data Consortium will launch the George Thomas Post-Graduate Fellowship in Health Data Science and Engineering. This Fellowship will also become a keystone around which the Health Data Consortium can build education programs well into the future.

The Health Data Consortium Thought Leadership Webinar Series delves into the most important and compelling health data topics in our health care system. These forums will bring together people with divergent backgrounds to provide diverse thought on health data issues.
