We’re excited to announce HDC’s new acting CEO. Following is the official announcement from HDC Executive Committee member and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Sr. Program Officer Paul Tarini.
It is my pleasure to announce that the Executive Committee of the Health Data Consortium (HDC) has appointed Dwayne Spradlin as acting CEO effective immediately.
For the past 5 years, Dwayne has served as CEO of InnoCentive Inc., the pioneer in open innovation and crowdsourcing. Previously he has served as President of Hoovers Online, President and COO of StarCite Inc., Senior Vice President at VerticalNet Inc., and Director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he spent ten years delivering technology and strategy solutions to Fortune 500 clients in healthcare, tech, transportation, and other industries. He is frequently interviewed and has been featured on CNBC, ABC, NPR, and BBC and quoted in journals and periodicals like The Economist, BusinessWeek, The New York Times, and others. Dwayne co-authored “The Open Innovation Marketplace”, published by FT Press, and more recently the article “Are You Solving the Right Problem?” featured in the September 2012 issue of Harvard Business Review.
Dwayne graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Business Administration (focus on strategic management and public policy).
InnoCentive is an original founding member of the Health Data Consortium. Dwayne has served as an active member of HDC’s Executive Committee since its inception in 2011. He also has extensive boardroom experience, including governance, audit, and compensation related roles. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Cortera Inc.
We have asked Dwayne to accept this role because the Executive Committee has recognized the opportunity to significantly amplify HDC’s impact and reach through dedicated leadership, expanded resources, and execution of targeted programs.
Please join me in welcoming Dwayne into this important role!
